RK, as he is fondly known, believes that when you are a guest at a fine dining restaurant, you are seeking high standards of personalized hospitality and a wholesome experience in everything, and that ladies and gentlemen, is what you get at the Hemingways Nairobi Brasserie.

Archie, the Executive Chef, has created this culinary haven that will excite your senses, pique your curiosity and tickle your palate to want to almost immediately sample the meals from the moment you see the names on the menu board. On Sundays, instead of the buffet menu which was a tradition before the ‘new normal era’,  The Brasserie has introduced a Sunday Jazz brunch 5 course meal tasting menu or what the French call, a menu degustation, a  gastronomic journey through a host of plates, a phenomenon gaining popularity around the world. The brunch tasting menu dishes are refreshed on a weekly basis to give clients a new experience every time they dine here, this according to Tuvei Wilberforce, the Food and Beverage Manager at Hemingways Nairobi.

Each meal is impeccably presented and intricately assembled and flows seamlessly to the next. From the Slow roasted Butternut Squash soup Chantilly cream to the Four spice seared Atlantic salmon fillet ‘A la Plancha’ on sautéed potatoes, asparagus, and mushrooms, Nantua sauce and/ or the Braised Lamb Shank Served on sweet Potato and garden Pea mash, red wine Lamb glaze.

The artistic arrangements engage all your senses and delivers a very pleasant meal. Chef Archie and his team pay attention to the provenance of ingredients, where possibly, sourcing locally and supporting producers of high-quality ingredients for use in their menu. “The concept behind the Brasserie menu is inspired by our ability to understand clientele preferences and thus tailor the menus to suit this market,” adds Mr Tuvei. At this point, I must add that they have put in place all the necessary measures in complying with the Govt structure of new normal Covid 19 guidelines. Your temperature will be checked at the main gate and the main lobby entrance upon which you will either wash your hands with water and soap or sanitize. Everybody will have to wear masks covering over their mouth and nose except while dining.

The food is delivered all covered up, and only revealed once it is placed in front of you (new measures being taken in the new normal times. This is to ensure no food is contaminated from the moment the food leaves the kitchen to the time it reaches your table). As for the menu, you can either simply scan and download the menu on your phone or opt to get a menu board, a new concept introduced.
