Nairobi-ans know how to work hard and play hard and on the weekend what better way to unwind and relax than leaving the hustle and bustle of the city to enjoy some quiet, serene time in Naivasha. The best part is that even if you still want an activity-filled weekend, there’s so much to do on your weekend getaway.

1.  Sunrise and a view
Wake up early and catch the sunrise at View Point, where you can also buy artefacts that will remind you of your trip.

2.Breakfast
After watching the sunrise, stop by La Belle Inn, a tiny house converted into a quaint little eatery for some delicious breakfast. Make sure you try their samosas.
3. Hell’s Gate National Park
At Hell’s Gate National park there’s no shortage of activities for all the wanderlust souls, all you have to do is pick what works for you. From rock climbing to camping to hiking to bike riding, everything for the restless traveller in need of an escape from the city.

From the moment you drive into the park, you will see plenty of wildlife quickly.
You can discover Hell’s Gate and combine this with a workout by bike to get a real taste of the breathtaking landscapes in the park.
Unlike bike riding, prior experience is needed for you rock climb, as this challenge is very demanding.
For the occasional Instagrammers, it wouldn’t be right if you left the park without snapping in front of these incredible views.

4. Boating on Lake Naivasha
To truly make your visit a trip to remember, get a group of friends and take on a boat ride on Lake Naivasha. The two hour trip will take you the through the calmness of the lake as you take in views of green houses in the distance as well as real adrenaline moments as you cruise by hippos.

5. Bird Watching on Lake Naivasha
If you like the idea of bird watching, then you will be delighted to know that there’s a variety of bird species on the lake and as you head to crescent Island.



6.Visit to Crescent Island
Crescent Island is more like Giraffe heaven. They all seemed unfazed by our presence there as they sat and stared. When you do visit the island, make sure you take a moment to just sit and take it all in… the birds, the wildlife, the calmness. It really is a sight to behold.
