Exclusive Bad Boys for Life Premiere in Nairobi; Pictures Gallery

“Bad Boys for Life,” which reunites Will Smith and Martin Lawrence on screen for the first time in 17 years in the “Bad Boys” action franchise, premiered in Nairobi last week at an exclusive screening hosted by Capital 98. 4 FM, your best mix of music at Diamond Plaza 2 Cinema.

It was an easy Casual dress up Friday evening of food, drinks, entertainment and catch up as revelers mingled and had a Tete-a-tete before the screening, with the main sponsors, Jack Daniels, Tropical Heat, House of Peptang (Pep Juice), Kapari (Castle Lite) and Fanta providing unlimited food and drinks all night. This was the most highly anticipated movie this season considering it’s been 17 years since the last Bad Boy movie. The film was commercially successful, grossing $141,407,024 worldwide in 1995.

According to reports, when the film was written for Carvey and Lovitz, the original title for Bad Boys was Bulletproof Hearts. Arsenio Hall turned down the role of Lowrey and cites that choice as the worst mistake he has ever made.

“If you just do a copy, then people aren’t going to be as interested. You must continue the evolution of these characters … in this case, we really wanted to explore the emotion, the conflict between these two characters who are much older. That is what makes the movie fresh compared to the other ones,” co-director Adil El Arbi told a reporter at the Hollywood premiere.

The movie opened in 3,740+ screens around the world on same weekend as the Nairobi screening.
