GOT fever is in the air and only the hardcore fans have it painted all over their faces. With Urban Decays bringing back their GOT inspired makeup collection, lets take a look at some GOT inspired makeup.
For those of you under a cloud of setting spray that may not know what Game Of Thrones or GOT is about, its based on George R.R. Martin’s best-selling book series “A Song of Ice and Fire”. With a considerable storytelling you can sink your matted lips and pearly whites into the medieval fantasy that is (for lack of a better word) epic. It’s the depiction of powerful families — kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars and honest men. Basically the whole world is invested and giant coperations are cashing in.
Witty items named after the stars of the show, you can purchase the Arya Stark Needle brush or even the mother of dragons palette. Browsing the Urban Decay website you can also receive makeup tutorials to look like your favourite house. Allowing you to step out your own house and say “I’m feeling like a Dothraki today!” And to quote the hit show “Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear [your pallet] like armor.” Like I said, the world is really invested.
Urban Decay, an American cosmetics brand and a subsidiary of the French cosmetics company L’Oréal. Teased the collaboration back in 2017 and the makeup world ate it up. When nothing came of it, many were left saying “If you think this has a happy ending, you haven’t been paying attention” (yes another GOT quote). They teamed up with HBO to release their brand earlier this year.
According to the source, this collection includes a UD. Game of Thrones pop-up Eyeshadow Palette. You’ll be armed with Jon Snow’s Longclaw and Arya Stark’s Needle eyeshadow brushes and get a glow with the Mother of Dragons Highlight Palette.
There’s also a cheek and lip tint called Dracarys that looks like a vial of dragon’s blood, Mother of Dragons highlighter palette, made complete with dragon eggs etched into the trio of shimmery powders. With shades like Drogon, Viserion (sobsobsob), and Rhaegal. There’s also a 3-D pop-up eyeshadow palette with a mini throne. The shades are divided into the four houses. House Targaryen contains smoldering purples and reds, including a lilac shade called Bend the Knee. The references could go on and on.
As I said the entire world is in a GOT form of chaos, but as Littlefinger said to Vary’s “Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder.” This begs the question, are you the ultimate fan if your face isn’t painted?
