CNN anchor Don Lemon is engaged to partner Tim Malone

CNN anchor Don Lemon is off the market, well if you had hopes that is. Don announced his engagement to his boyfriend, Tim Malone, a real estate agent in New York, on Saturday. The two have been dating for two years.

“He gave me a present on his birthday. How could I say no?” the anchor captioned the photo of their bowtie-shaped dog tags engraved with the words, “daddy will you marry papa?” The tags were on their puppies, Boomer and Barkley.

The photo posted on Lemon’s Instagram also shows off the couple’s rings

Don is one of CNN’s most popular figures. His show, CNN Tonight, grew the most in cable news at 10pm, increasing +21% in total viewers (1.126 million) vs. a year ago, while Fox’s Ingraham is down -6% and MSNBC is +11%.  This is CNN Tonight’s second-best February on record in total viewers (1.126 million), following 2017 and the third highest on record in the key demo 25-54 (342k), behind 2017 and 2018.

In February, Don Lemon shared his perspectives on life as an openly gay black man when he joined the “Red Table Talk” series, led by actress Jada Pinkett Smith

“On top of being ― one, he has to deal with discrimination as a black man, and then on top of that he has to be gay ― and he’s out,” he said. “And then fame. And fame is not natural. I don’t think people were meant to be famous.”

Black and Gay in America with Don Lemon

The Red Table makes a special trip to New York for an exclusive interview with CNN anchor Don Lemon about the horrific hate crime against "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett. Lemon reveals the obstacles he faced being a gay, black man in a high-profile job, and the challenges facing gay men in the African American community.
