How to style your balcony to suit your needs

Balconies, just like patios are truly the best way to enhance your indoor-outdoor living experience. However, most people often ignore their balconies or forget that they have balconies altogether.

Chances are that if you live in an apartment building, you have a balcony. Whether big or small, indoor style or outdoor style, open rail or closed up, it is a balcony nonetheless and it should be majorly considered when styling your home. It is actually the only space in our homes that is multi-purpose.

True, balconies are underrated and because of that we have decided to take it upon ourselves to give you some reasons off the bat as to  why you should put some more thought into styling your balcony so that it can serve you best.

*Balconies offer us the perfect chilling spot while giving us the perfect dose of that indoor-outdoor feel.

TIP: For a simple look, two bucket chairs and a small, outdoor coffee table will do the trick.

*Balconies have the perfect space to grow and display potted herbs and flowers. It is also so much easier to tend to potted plants right in the comfort of your home.

TIP: If you want to showcase your plants, keep everything else simple. The furniture, the decor…keep them simple.

*Balconies are the best spot in the house to unwind and perhaps let you get lost in your own thoughts.

TIP: Install a hammock or  a swing  chair. This gives your balcony a relaxed, holiday kinda feel.

*Balconies offer the perfect space to curl up with a good book and a glass of wine/cup of tea.

*Also, a space where you can sit quietly and get some work done (That is if you work from home or if you carry some work home. Offices are too mainstream nowadays, anyway.)

*A balcony is perfect for catching the evening breeze and watching the stars.

*If you are a “people watcher” then you can do so quietly from your balcony…and no one will notice you watching them.

*Catch the sunset or sunrise from your balcony.

TIP: Create a beautiful ambience by adding string lights or fairy lights.

*Have a drink and entertain some guests.

TIP: Pallet sofas are so comfortable. If you are going for comfort, then definitely get one of those.

TIP: Do not overcrowd your balcony. Remember you are trying to create a beautiful space that is cozy, beautiful and where you can always sit and relax.
