A man’s lottery mistake won him a $50,015 jackpot.
The 70-year-old Maryland resident told lottery officials that he’s used the same Bonus Match 5 numbers for the last two decades, but filled out a recent payslip incorrectly and ended up with the number 11 instead of 12.
The accidental run – 2, 4, 7, 11 and 31 – earned him $50,000, while he also won $15 from a different line on the ticket.
He bought the slip at the 7-Eleven store in Deale, and said: “I go down there to get my coffee every day since I retired.”
The lucky winner and his wife will use some of the money to remodel their home, and they’ll split the rest with their three grandchildren.
