Bata’s President for Africa, Alberto Errico, and Esther Kute, Product Development Manager of Bata Kenya welcomed four aspiring young designers from the University of Nairobi and the Technical University of Kenya as part of the finalists for the new “Bata Designers Apprentice” competition that started back in September 2017.

The competition, a first of it’s kind in Kenya, is a product development initiative that aims to give students and emerging designers in Kenya the opportunity to create a classic shoe for Bata, while gaining experience working at one of the biggest footwear manufacturer in Kenya and East Africa.

Months of hard work, challenges and practical on-the-job training later, the winner of Bata Designers Apprentice was crowned on Friday and Our2Cents was there to capture it all!

Join Sharon and Susan in a fun episode of shopping, interesting conversations with young footwear designers, enjoy a fashion show, and celebrate Kenyan excellence!
