John Quinn is Tullamore D.E.W.’s Global Brand Ambassador and having worked in the industry for close to 40 years, he knows a thing or two about Irish whiskey!

Named ‘Whiskey Brand Ambassador of The Year’ by Whisky Magazine’s Icons of Whisky Awards in 2016 and as one of the ‘Top 10 Most Influential People in Irish Whiskey’ by The Spirits Business in 2016, the legendary Quinn is bringing his know-how to Kenya.

Quinn landed in Nairobi on Monday ahead of a week-long visit to share Tullamore D.E.W.’s unique ‘Power of 3’ approach to whiskey making.

The Three Stages of Whiskey Making

  1. Triple distilled to produce a whiskey of exceptional smoothness.
  2. A triple blend of all three types of Irish whiskey: golden grain, single malt, and pot still; yielding a whiskey of greater complexity.
  3. Triple cask matured in three distinct cask types – traditional refill, ex-bourbon and ex-sherry: to create unrivaled depth and balance of flavour

When it comes to whiskey, from grain to glass, Quinn is a travelling storehouse of knowledge. Quinn first broke into the whiskey business in 1974, and through the years has managed to serve in almost every role imaginable at Tullamore D.E.W.

If you’re unfamiliar with the newest whiskey in Kenya, Tullamore D.E.W. is the world’s second largest Irish whiskey brand with global sales of more than one million (9L) cases annually. Daniel E. Williams, the creator of Tullamore D.E.W. worked his way up from the lowest jobs of the distillery to become the owner, creating a whiskey so distinctive and character-filled, it could only be stamped with his initials: D.E.W.

Tullamore D.E.W.’s award winning range includes: Tullamore D.E.W. Original, Tullamore D.E.W. 12 Year Old Special Reserve, Tullamore D.E.W. 15 Year Old Trilogy, Tullamore D.E.W. 14 Year Old Single Malt, Tullamore D.E.W. 18 Year Old Single Malt, Tullamore D.E.W.
