This makes no sense at all. What will the DP do in the building considering he has no other job but being an adviser to the president (can’t be even be a Cabinet Secretary). He should work from State House! That building should be allocated a substantive ministry – stop wasting public resources!

Before you call other people names, read Article 147 of the constitution on functions of the DP, especially clause 147(4) that says: “The Deputy President shall not hold any other State or public office.”

It’s unfortunate that impunity still persists days after we thought our country had moved
forward by electing a president out of free will, why form commissions/authorities
with no teeth? and who is calling the shots here? No issues with Ruto occupying any office, but what is the rational since the VP has traditionally had an office at Jogoo house? We may be in for a tough time with the mentality already being displayed.

if 1billion was used to buy the house for the prime minister then, what is the big deal now

For me the issue is not the VP using the house, but the proclamation by somebody who I think should not be taking part in the decision, if Ruto requested for the office or Uhuru suggested the same then it is fine, but why the change of heart after the election? Somebody somewhere other than the the occupants is upto something, overulling the decisoin of a legally constituted authoroty responsible for transition!

mbona kikuyu are behaving as if they own Kenya? things are in the kitchen as soon as they are cooked they will be served hot. My plea to other communities: avoid any Kikuyu business transaction as buying from them will enrich them as as it means putting your money into their system as they control everything. It requires smart people to come up with ways to shrewdly deal with Kikuyus. Cord can drop its petition and silently give them all offices then begin clandestine operations to topple them ..If you bring them down economically from all counties they will surrender as they are slaves to money. All counties work hard and lets treat kikuyus as big devils until they lack a place to rest. Simple kick their assess!

The kikuyus are hard working, ave and invest their money wisely when fools like you spend all their money in bars and women. Fools like you will always be kissing kikuyu asses for the rest of their lives and paying rents because they don’t have the brain to build their own.

So why are women in Nyeri battering their husbands for being drunkards? Nyani kweli haoni kundule. Kikuyus are the way they are because of numbers, what one luo or luhya will do will be done by 5 kikuyus, there is no magic to that. The sheer size of the community is subconsciously pushing you towards aggression . in the name of investing wisely .. How come no other tribe is allowed to set up business in Nyeri, Muranga etc? Even if the do they do not get customers…. Wacheni kuenjoy watu.

iam sure you even don’t know what owning a business means. The best furniture in nyeri is made by people of Luo origin as well as excellent auto -body repairs .They are very successful not because they are Luos but of their good work. People of Nyeri buy from them even though there are their kinsmen in the same business. People with the kind of mentality need to travel extensively and realise that instead of castigating Kikuyus the way you have been taught by your politicians, you should try learning from hem Why is it that most of your politicians keep on preaching to you about the evils of kikuyus and yet they got kikuyu wives or mistresses?

How naive can we get? Kenya belongs to all of us and no schemes should be used to sideline any community. In any case this was tried by past regimes, with poor results. Modern day Kenya and we are still talking of sidelining tribes instead of using all our resources to move Kenya forward? Come on now!

OKO – please…. so sad that a Kenyan could write this. It is so embarrassing. We have many Luo-Kikuyu business partnerships and they are doing so well. You are an example of what Kenya has been trying to recover from. Please keep your advice to yourself. Most Luos are above this and can tell between politics and normal life.

But for God’s sake he is the Deputy President. Let Ruto be treated with the respect he deserves. Was it right to give it to Rao and not Ruto? Guys you need to change your attitude. You are so full of hatred………..It won’t help

So what happens to what has been the VPs office? This is just a way of using power to intimidate and frustrate political enemies. The transitional authority had said the building would be used by the governor. The government spokesman does not have authority to allocate buildings. And why the haste? Even if the petition will not be successful the O.P.M still has staff, who are public servants by the way.who are yet to clear and be deployed.
Few days in power and already Jubilee is misusing power. What a shame.
