#BeautyBar: 4 beauty tricks to try out with tea bags

A cup of tea is to most people what oxygen is: a matter of life and death!

With the rise of herbal teas making their way into many people’s homes and daily routines, there are quite a number of used tea bags that are regularly tossed.

But as you may already know, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Or should we say, beauty product!

Here are 6 unexpected ways to recycle used tea bags in your beauty regimen:

  1. Reduce puffiness around eyes. Run out of cucumber? Try using warm tea bags over your eyes to reduce swelling and irritation. They contain anti-irritant properties that will even help with redness.
  2. Use as face mask. Green tea, an ancient Asian beverage, is not only amazing when ingested but for topical use as well. Cut open the used tea bag and mix the grain with a teaspoon of honey, a dash of lemon juice and a quarter teaspoon of turmeric. Apply it on your face and rinse out with warm water after 10minutes and voila! You’re left with brighter, rejuvenated skin.
  3. Condition dry hair. If you want some extra shine to your hair, try rinsing it with a cup of tea. No, really! Feel free to use old tea bags to create a simple tea rinse that will strengthen and thicken your hair.
  4. Face Toner. For those who may have run out of your regular toner, fear not just as long as you’ve got some green tea in your pantry. Brew a cup and let it cool down then use a cotton pad to swipe this natural toner onto your skin. It’s also known to help with skin conditions such as psoriasis.
