Plenty of Fish (POF) has revealed what is the best opening line to get a response on dating apps.

The study found the main buzzwords which guarantee a response from a desired partner after it scoured through 60,000 messages to identify the top words used by men and women.

The dating app found the words someone should lead with include beautiful, pretty, gorgeous, handsome, cute, nice and smile.

Shannon Smith, communication manager at POF, told Brit & Co: “Striking up a conversation with someone you’re interested in can be intimidating, but having proven words that people will respond to on a dating app makes for a great starting point.”
