New e-commerce platform delivers quality drinks to your home

Pernod Ricard Kenya and Jumia Food have come together to launch a new e-commerce platform that will see house parties never running dry of beverages ever again!

Dubbed Jumia Party, the first of its kind in Kenya, the digital alcoholic beverage platform will leverage Jumia’s efficient delivery service and marry it to Pernod Ricard’s brand experiences, which I witnessed firsthand at the platform’s house party launch recently.

How It Works

Placing a drinks order could not be simpler from the comfort of your couch. Patrons are required to log on to the platform by confirming they are of legal drinking age, selecting the products of preference, adding it to the cart and finally confirming delivery location on checkout.  Delivery will then be made within 1 hour. Customers have the options to pay either cash or via Lipa Na M-Pesa upon delivery. In the future patrons will also be able to place their orders through an app.

As for underage drinking, the platform has an ID age gate that requires patrons to confirm their age before they can access the site. The delivery riders are also trained to ask for ID when they deliver the products to the consumer.

Opened 24 hours on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and public holidays, and Sundays – Wednesdays from 10am – 10pm – running out of drinks during a party will never be an excuse again. I wonder if they deliver ice as well?
