All weddings, including the most modest ones cost some money. Many couples are always left wondering how they will cater for their wedding expenses, and still spare some money to enjoy their honeymoons.
This however, is not the story for Daniel Makau and his fiancée Beatrice Muthoni. The couple have won an all-expense paid wedding and honeymoon package, courtesy of Maisha Magic East and Sarova Hotels, Resort and Game Lodges.
The couple, who submitted their entry following the announcement of the competition by Maisha Magic East last month managed to clinch the top position after battling it out with 13 other couples. The two impressed a panel of judges who comprised of the most sought after wedding planners in the country.
The consortium of the four leading wedding companies include Fatema Bhaiji from Aura Event Planners, Christopher Kirwa from Cate Chris Limited, Dorothy Kimweli from House of Dotty and Chemtai Chamia and Alex Chamia from Bloomingdale Event Planners.
“I gave my fiancé a promise ring to signify that I will keep all the promises I have made to her from today henceforth. The ring, I said in passing, would also be a promise that we would win the competition. And we did. We are so overwhelmed and cannot thank Maisha Magic East enough for this great surprise. Now we have two less things to worry about as we wait for our perfect wedding,” said the excited couple.
The 14 couples, who were shortlisted for the competition, will feature in the reality show, Our Perfect Wedding, which is set to premier at 8 pm on Thursday, the 3rd of November, 2016, on Maisha Magic East (DStv Channel 158 and GOtv Channel 4).
The programme will follow the 14 Kenyan couples through their love story and wedding planning process. It promises viewers a lot of entertainment as it brings forth all the spectacle that comes with getting the perfect dress, the perfect venue and perfect cake; not forgetting the dramatic in-laws and the traditional ceremonies that have to be concluded before the bride can walk down the aisle.
“The Exciting thing about Our Perfect Wedding is that it is a truly Kenyan wedding experience. All the 14 couples are Kenyan, and are planning for their big day, hoping to get the perfect wedding. The show demonstrates Maisha Magic East’s commitment to provide premium local content on our platforms,” said The Head of Channel for Maisha Magic East, Margaret Mathore.
“The Kenyan version of OPW is evidence of the expanding opportunity of the local production sector and further highlights the increasing contribution that Maisha Magic East continues to make to the local film and production sector in Kenya. This is an exciting, and refreshing show that our viewers on both DStv and GOtv can look forward to,” added Mathore.
Kenya has been chosen as the next best home for Our Perfect Wedding. The show has been broadcast in two countries in Southern Africa where it has pulled and received outstanding on-air and online following and audience ratings.
Our Perfect Wedding will give viewers a front row seat to intimate lives of real couples as they plan their perfect weddings. Viewers should prepare to be amazed, inspired and entertained at the drama that comes with the show. Things can go right or horribly wrong, and this show promises to bring the best and worst days of couples as they look forward to begin a lifetime journey together.
All the five couples who were shortlisted for the grand prize also get an all-expense paid honeymoon package courtesy of Sarova Hotels, Resort and Game Lodges.
