Few jazz vocalists have managed to earn the respect and praises of the jazz community whilst successfully courting a cross-over R&B audience. Sometimes dubbed as a jazz singer for the hip-hop generation, New York City-based vocalist José James combines jazz, soul, drum’n’bass, and spoken word into his own unique brand of vocal jazz.

The 38-year-old musician, composer and bandleader is set to bring his unique blend of jazz to the oldest jazz festival in South Africa – Joy Of Jazz on Friday, 16th and Saturday, 17th of September.
