Did you know, 130 million people are living in crisis, facing impossible choices every day?
Today, August 19, marks World Humanitarian Day, the day when, in 2003, 22 aid workers were killed in a bombing at the UN headquarters in Baghdad. It is a day where people can pay tribute to all those affected by humanitarian crises and those who lost their lives in humanitarian service – a day to celebrate the spirit that inspires humanitarian work around the world.
World Humanitarian Day calls on humanity to act in 5 core areas: Prevent Conflict, Respect Rules of War, Leave No One Behind, Work Differently To End Need, and Invest In Humanity.
