#Travel: Kenyan nominees seek glory at World Spa Awards

Celebrating excellence in the spa industry, the 2nd annual World Spa Awards will be taking place at Forte Village Resort in Sardinia, Italy on September 4th, 2016.

The Gala Ceremony will welcome hospitality leaders from around the world to the Sardinian resort, where winners will finally be announced after members of the public, spa tourism stakeholders and hospitality industry insiders were invited to cast their votes until July 25th.

Kenya was nominated in the category Africa’s Best Spa Destination alongside Egypt, Morocco, Mozambique, South Africa and Tanzania. Angsana Spa at Sankara Nairobi, Devarana Spa at DusitD2 Nairobi, Kaya Spa at Tribe Hotel, and Kempinski The Spa at Villa Rosa Kempinski were nominated for Kenya’s Best Hotel Spa. For Best Resort Spa in Kenya, Maya Spa at Diani Reef Beach Resort & Spa, Mvua African Rain SPA at Diamonds Dream of Africa, Siyara Spa at Enashipai Resort & Spa, Swahili Spa at Swahili Beach, and Uzuri Spa at Leopard Beach Resort & Spa rounded up the nominees. Finally for Best Safari Spa in Kenya, Amani Spa at Mara Bushtops, Nasaro at Mahali Mzuri, The Spa at Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club and The Spa at Segera Retreat were nominated for their excellence in the country.

World Spa Awards is a dynamic awards programme, launched in 2015, and is designed to drive up standards within spa tourism by rewarding the organisations that are the leaders in the field. Launched by the World Travel Awards, itself inaugurated in 1994, as a sister programme to the World Ski Awards and World Golf Awards, World Spa Awards is focused on the rapidly evolving spa and wellness sector.
