If you’re looking for a little pick me up in the middle of the week, these pictures will do just that.

Few things are as inspiring as watching an athlete in the Rio Summer Olympics go into a game with such focus and dedication and come out the winner. Moreso if they happen to be from your country!

With more than 11,500 athletes competing in roughly 300 events within 39 major sports categories, there are going to be some dramatic gold medalists, sore losers and incredible photos in between.
