Eminem is selling bricks and bits of wood from the house pictured on the front of his ‘Marshall Mathers LP’.

The controversial American rap star has decided to mark the 16-year anniversary of the award-winning record by selling bits of the house pictured on the iconic album cover, while he will also re-release a version of the album on cassette.

He wrote on Instagram, alongside a picture of him inside the house: “Today is the #MMLP 16th anniversary! In 2013 we revisited my childhood home for the sequel and later had the opportunity to put together some once in a lifetime collectables created from the remains of what has become a very iconic symbol for me and my career. Eminem has been selective about his public appearances in recent years and has spoken at length about his battle with drug addiction.

The chart-topping rapper previously revealed he turned to exercise to satisfy his “addict’s brain”.

The Grammy award winner said: “I would get up in the morning, and before I went to the studio, I would run eight and a half miles in about an hour, and followed that up with eight and a half miles at night.

“I started getting OCD about the calories, making sure I burned 2,000 every day.”

The 43-year-old musician initially piled on the pounds in response to the physical problems caused by his addiction to painkillers.

He said: “The coating on the Vicodin and the Valium I’d been taking for years leaves a hole in your stomach, so to avoid a stomachache, I was constantly eating.”
