Calvin Klein underwear ad causes stir

A new Calvin Klein underwear ad has caused a stir in America because it features a photo taken from underneath a woman’s skirt, focused on her crotch.

The photo is of a model named Klara Kristin, 23, who wears a cream-colored skirt and looks down at the floor-level camera.

The ad campaign is called “I flash in #my calvins.”

The photo triggered an outpouring of disgust and reproach on social media and elsewhere.

“Calvin Klein is marketing to perverts,” a headline in the New York Post screamed.

“@CalvinKlein, your ad sexualizes young girls. We’re #NotBuyingIt,” tweeted the account Miss Representation, part of the Representation Project, which says it works to fight stereotypes and social injustice.

The National Center on Sexual Exploitation said the ad depicted a form of sexual harassment, namely ‘up-skirting’ — the practice of taking shots up a woman’s skirt without her knowledge or consent.

The center launched a petition calling on the fashion house to “stop normalizing and glamorizing sexual harassment.”

But as of Thursday afternoon, the photo remained on the Calvin Klein Twitter feed.

Calvin Klein ad campaigns are often sexy, and sometimes feature models who look androgenous and are very young.

In 1981, the American actress Brooke Shields, then 16, posed in tight Calvin Klein jeans with her legs spread. She looks at the camera and says, “You want to know what comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing.”

NMG should stop acting like gutter press; reporting everything and anything…. Soon even the Miguna Miguna story will also embarrass them… Leave such news to the gutter press…

i knew this would happen! media houses trying to out do each other with sensational documentaries with very poor investigative journalism without any regard whom they mess up! NTV doing this is not a surprise and expect more as we near elections and they’ll blame police and politicians for everything……just pathetic!

What if indeed he is Kabuga? Who are his kin’s people? Are there records of his childhood eg. schooling? Are there people who worked with him in the civil service? Why the high profile press conference? Was his DNA given to Interpol? Where is he now? He closed his business, What is he living on in hiding? ????? I wouldn’t dismiss the journalist just yet!

I have known the man since my childhood and having worked in ministry of water isolo for over 30yrs, i know his siblings and shaggz too. This is lack of ethics and professionalism. He is a renowned mzee from Isiolo. Pay a visit in isiolo and ask astreet boy to take you to ‘Ngeera’. Lets mzee have peaceful retirement!

This is a serious goof NTV did and they should be ready to pay through the nose. No one will ever belive the investigative pieces of Kabuga from any quota, I belive the inteligent guys Allan Namu used missled him totally and even the young guy he interviewed was just a imposter he should have gone to the wife, brothers, sisters or even the parents of Seronei to get his personnal details i.e the force number, photos showing him in the millitary which I belive they should have and his work station.

Will this be a case like the one of Albert Gachiri giving false story of Michuki death?. Will NMG fire Allan Namu?. or it will be story of Big fish and Small fish?. Lets wait and see.
