The annual Earth Day falls on April 22nd and is just right around the corner!

In celebration of environmental protection, Earth Day 2016 will mark the signing of the landmark Paris Agreement, the historic draft climate protection treaty adopted by consensus of the 195 nations present at the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference.

Over the next five years, as Earth Day moves closer to its 50th anniversary, the planting of 7.8 billion trees is planned as one of the five major goals Earth Day Network will be undertaking.

Earth Day Network is the world’s largest recruiter to the environmental movement, working with more than 50,000 partners in 196 countries to build environmental democracy through a healthy, sustainable environment, address climate change, and protect the Earth for future generations.

On Saturday, April 23rd, 2016, Capital Kids Club and Capital FM will be hosting a Tree Party together with DSTv to mark Earth Day in Nairobi, Kenya.

Held at the Karura Forest’s Kfeet Centre, partygoers, young and old, will learn about the earth, make crafts from recycled goods, participate in a TREEsure hunt, plant trees and enjoy and afternoon of fun!
