Willow Smith has been named as a Chanel ambassador, following in the footsteps of Lily-Rose Depp, Blake Lively and Kristen Stewart.
The 15-year-old singer – who sat in the front row at the French fashion house’s fall 2016 ready-to-wear presentation at Paris Fashion Week with her mother Jada Pinkett Smith – has revealed that she has been chosen by Karl Lagerfeld to represent the brand.
She wrote on Instagram: “Thank you Karl Lagerfeld and the entire team at Chanel for expanding the perceptions of ‘beauty’ by picking me to be the new Chanel ambassador. I am honored (sic).”
Willow follows in the footsteps of Lily-Rose Depp, Blake Lively and Kristen Stewart.
Meanwhile, her older brother Jaden is also the face of a luxury brand and posed in womenswear for Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2016 campaign.
At the time Willow posted a picture of the campaign on Instagram and wrote a supportive message about her brother.
She said: “Males and females are put into boxes of expectation when we are born. As we grow we start to realize the damages that those expectations cause to our spiritual and emotional understanding of ourselves and life. The more we start to realize that we are all the same and infinitely different at the same time, the more we begin to shed those expectations and live free to continue to uplift the essence of Earth (sic).”
