Condolences to the bereaved family. Where is Mwau? since there is only a mention of his car and not the driver. Has he recorded a statement at the police?

The MP should have been locked up by now to be an example to other motor vehicle drivers in the country. It’s appalling to see more precious being lost by these reckless drivers

Shouldn’t the headline of this article be “Harun Mwau arrested for killing a pedestrian”??
A crime was committed here and before we establish who/how it happened, the offender should be locked up as by our laws (suspected murderer).
And being an MP shouldn’t be an exception!

Don’t hate on him. A friend saw this accident & the guy just jumped onto the road. At that place, it is really difficult to control. And Mwau was not the driver.

A less mortal would be rotting in a police cell by now. But the guy was allowed to change vehicles as if he had hit a little stray dog! New laws are being treated as though they were nothing by creatures who matter in society. But I blame it all on our independence leaders. They just changed the colour of the leader but certainly not the laws. Our police officers are oriented in such a way that they are not supposed to question or even arrest our big guys. An innocent poor guy driving his old car wont escape attention of a traffic police officer. While a thief in an expensive car would just passby or even be given a huge salute! Thats simply because our officers were trained to “respect” their white masters. Needless to say, at independence, only colonial masters had nice cars and nearly nice everything. When our folks took over, they never attempted to change that perception. Infact, they reinforced it. Thats why even Banks to this day demand “references” for your hard earned money. If you want to open a current account and you have all necessary documents, why would the bank ask for anything else? Business registration certificate actually means you are officially recognized legal entity. Nevertheless, colonial masters, in order to hold the population back from path of development, treated whoever had money at that time like a thief. Our banks to this day, have unwritten policy (colonial relic!) of trying to “identify the right source of the money” even before it lands on their counters. Surely, opening a normal current account doesnt require scrutiny by our banks. Little things like dangerous road spots have remained “black spots” 50 years after independence. Thats so while in real sense, the leadership and the country are black! When these contradictions run so deep, what then would stop the “Boss” from calling for another car after hitting a “black mouse?”  He had extremely important business to do after all! And the police towed the Boss’s car to their station, apparently to “investigate!” Whats there really to investigate, the car, the killer driver or seemingly the “dead mouse?” Am awfully sorry for the dead man and his folks. Am only trying to suggest that Hon. Mwau should not be a free man at this point in time. We should  not treat life that so casually.

There was an accident at Kenol in Murang’a the same day this happenned.Over 16 people lost their lives. Its unfortunate that the media has made such a big deal out of the death of one person than the 16.Isn’t this malice.Up to date no cares to know the name of the Kenol accident driver. No one plans an accident to happen. It could be you any time.Every day and every time, there is an accident happenning somewhere…why arent these accidents given such promince by the media?Shame on you who celebrate when such incidents happen. We all say pole to the bereaved family and pass our sympathies to Hon.Mwau.
