“When Southern Sudan has been bombed what has the UN Security Council said? What has the African union said?” If you follow what Sudan has been doing in that area for the past 6 months, you’d agree wholly to the above statement. The UN and AU should be ashamed for coming out now and making noise because the tide appears to be turning militarily. Shouldn’t Sudan and its sponsors have seen that it was only a matter of time before someone armed South Sudan. What was the point of all the cross-border bombings, the oil imbroglio, the oil stealing (childish at best), and the oil pipeline issue??? Makes no sense to me. Suddenly everyone (Sudan, Au, Un) is surprised. The UN and AU’s silence suggested that South Sudan should be happy that they got their own country and that Sudan was free to act as it wanted since it has already given up much. But that is not so. Further, please explain why the UN did not consider it a duty to eject Sudanese army from Abyei even though the UN has enough force to do so, and it was the prudent thing to do pending the settlement of Abyei’s status. Sudan gave up and agreed to Comprehensive Peace after many years because its time was up. The Arabs/Islamists in the AU/UN need to rein in on Sudan to help bring peace in that area. Sudan should not be inflamed with religious or racial views…they are already divided and they should be aided in their search for peace. Even Sudan itself still has a mixed-race and mixed-religion country. Also, the discordant situation in South Kordofan, Blue Nile and Darfur should be address at international level, else there would be no peace in that area. Bashir should leave and enduring legacy for his people by finding a way to talk to and settle with his detractors in orderto be rewarded an enduring peace. For full disclosure, I am a not Sudanese and have no affiliation with either Sudan. However, I am an International Controversy analyst who have been following the events in Sudan since the days of John Garang.

I have a burning question Mr. Pagan Amum. WHEN WILL YOU STOP CALLING YOURSELVES SOUTH “SUDAN.” REMOVE THE WORD SUDAN FROM THE EQUATION AND RENAME YOUR NEW NATION (BAPTISM) JUST LIKE DRC DID. FIND A NAME.

Mr. Theo or whatever you name yourself, you didn’t get the real meaning of WHAT THE WORD “SUD” MEAN TO YOU. If you do, you should not have asked Pagan such question. The South Sudan have the right to let the North Create their own name instead of having the name sudan remain with them. In the North you can simply call yourselves African-Arab or something else.
