Joseph Mayanja, popularly known as Doctor Jose Chameleone, is one of East Africa’s finest musicians.
Chameleone had his first break when he traveled to Kenya where he met Bebe Cool and Ogopa Deejays, which resulted in his first song “Bageya” which featured Redsan. This song became an instant hit in Kenya, even before the Ugandan musician became known back at home. The superstar finally broke onto the Ugandan music scene with his single “Maama Mia” which was released in 2001.
After releasing thirteen music albums, Chameleone is still going strong. The superstar was in Nairobi for the latest season of Coke Studio Africa earlier in the year, and the Ugandan musician is set to bring his iconic sound to Nairobi’s Arboretum Gardens for the final edition of the popular Koroga Festival for 2015, this Sunday.
Wrapping-up an incredible year of performances, organizers of Koroga Festival are bringing out all the stops with an energetic line-up on Sunday, 20th of December at Nairobi Arboretum; featuring Ken Wa Maria, J.B. Maina, and Jose Chameleone – backed by a 12-person band.
