#TransformYourLife: Why wheat is bad for you

healthy living

Mindful eating is the motivator for this challenge. We are so accustomed to reactive eating vs proactive eating. We eat when we get hungry and most of the time, we eat whatever it is that is first available.

The other purpose of this challenge is to give your body a break from ingesting this overly processed product and instead have you replace it with a healthier alternative. You will also realize how dependent of wheat products you are and perhaps after the challenge you can reduce consumption of these products. This is not a weight loss driven challenge but more of a wellness challenge. You WILL feel better if you stick with it!

Why wheat is bad for you

There are lots of other alternatives to wheat but you need to step outside the wheat-box:

  1. Breakfast options: Egg whites, yoghurt, sweet potatoes, yams, oatmeal pancakes, previous night’s dinner are all great breakfast options.
  2. Lunch/Dinner: sweet potatoes, yams, butternut squash, rice, potatoes…all to be consumes sparingly

Simple breakfast recipe: Blend oatmeal, egg whites, stevia or raw honey, and water for pancakes

Note: Due to wheat’s addictive properties, you might suffer withdrawal symptoms such as fatigue, irritability, mental fogginess, anxiety and strong cravings for wheat….remind yourself that you’re trying make a change
