#BeautyBar: How to prevent lipstick stains

lip stains 1

If intentional, a stained lip (either from bold lipstick or some red wine) can be a very subtle yet sexy way to add colour to your face.

If unintentional, however, then there’s a likelihood that you may end up looking like a hot mess – and there’s nothing sexy about that.

We decided to share some beauty tips that will help you prevent any awkward stains from ruining your day using simple techniques!

Tips on how to prevent lips from getting permanently stained:

  1. The key to prevent staining actually starts from the point of application. If your lips are cracked and chapped then it’s likely that the lipstick will be etched into every little crevice of dead skin. Start by exfoliating your lips using a gentle scrub (like the easy DIY recipe from Tippy Tuesday). Tippy Tuesday - DIY Lip Scrub
  2. Follow with a light lip balm (nothing too heavy or sticky) and let it sit on your lips for five to ten minutes.
  3. Apply a thin layer of concealer which will not only allow the truest colour of your lipstick to come through but will also act as a protective layer to your lipstick.
  4. Finish with your bold lipstick! Lipstick 6
