Few are going to talk poetically about steak, but in 33-year-old chef John Muriithi’s hands (a rising star in Kenya’s culinary scene who has never been to culinary school), this simple pleasure transforms into something splendid to the palate: a savoury, crispy, well-seasoned and golden-brown crust – the result of natural flavours and sugars of the meat caramelizing in a charcoal-powered Josper oven, encapsulating morsels of juicy beef.

In this latest installment of Tastemakers, Susan Wong sits down with Muriithi to learn more about the man behind Sankara Nairobi’s newest offering, Graze, a New York-style steakhouse in Nairobi, Kenya.

Obama is seriously going for another round? You’d think he would give up by now.

I am in the US and Frankly, I think Obama has tried to put forward policies that would make things better in the field of Unemployment and housing. But the republicans hav fought his propositions simply because they know it would work, but they don’t want it to work before 2012. So things are the way they are because of the republicans. Obama should invoke some executive powers to push but issues forward rather than wait to be portraiyed as not able to lead.
