#MustListen: ‘Lazizi’ the Sauti Sol classic re-imagined

aaron rimbui lazizi

By Aaron Rimbui

It occurred to me that great jazz artists past and present have always reimagined pop tunes of the day. That gave me the idea of looking inward- Kenyan pop tunes that tell the stories of our times.

Sauti Sol’s ability to tell current stories through song is phenomenal. This is my take on Lazizi in a jazz trio setting which leaves lots of room to improvise yet keeping the sanctity of tune intact.

And has libya government contributed anything to the hunger striken people at the horn of Africa? Are these people aware what children, mothers and elderly are going through due to hunger and when we are busy saving lives they are busy fighting  for power! Or what are they fighting for? Shame on them, go to hell.
