Jennifer Lawrence ending the Hollywood gender pay gap

New friends Jennifer Lawrence and Lorde head out to dinner after the Met Gala in NYC

Jennifer Lawrence is set to end Hollywood’s gender pay gap, by banking twice what her co-star Chris Pratt will earn from ‘Passengers’.

The 24-year-old actress has signed a “watertight” $20 million deal for her role in the upcoming film, putting her in an exclusive group of Hollywood high earners, alongside the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Bradley Cooper and Robert Downey Jr. – all of whom can command enormous fees for their projects, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

This news comes after Jennifer, along with Amy Adams, found herself at the forefront of a bitter row over Hollywood’s gender pay gap after an email from the Sony hack revealed the two women were paid less than their male co-stars Bradley, Christian Bale and Jeremy Renner for ‘American Hustle’.

Email exchanges between studio execs showed that Jennifer and Amy – who both received Oscar nods for their performances – received seven percent shares of the film’s profits while the director and the three male leads received nine percent.

It’s not just Jennifer’s career that’s going from strength to strength, as it was recently reported that she’s “happier than ever” with boyfriend Chris Martin as well.

She started dating the 38-year-old Coldplay frontman last year, and the two have reportedly been spending lots of “quality time” together since the Oscar winner recently wrapped up filming her upcoming film, ‘Joy,’ in Boston.

A source close to the couple said: “Both have full plates and they like it that way. They see each other when they can, yet each continues to do their own thing. They respect each other immeasurably.”
