(By Shenrina Badri) Skin care should be practised on a daily basis if you want to look and feel great as the years pass by.
Here are four ways in which you can practise good skin care.
Be gentle with your skin. Try to avoid taking long showers or baths with very hot water. At the same time, be wary as to what products you use in the bath – some soaps and shower gels, etc., may be too strong and may dry or irritate your skin.
Remember to also be gentle when drying yourself – use a soft towel to pat your skin dry, instead of rubbing hard on your skin.
Moisturise your skin daily and adequately with a moisturizer that is suitable for your skin type. Chat to a dermatologist if you are unsure as to which one to use.
Protect your skin from the harsh effects of the sun. Wear a hat or use an umbrella when out in the hot sun and remember to use skin care products that contain a sun protection factor. Don’t forget to hydrate too!
If you smoke, quit! Smoking causes damage to your skin, in addition to other parts of your body!
