Did you know that turmeric can present you with an opportunity to kick Alzheimer’s disease to the curb? Well, studies have shown that Indians who eat spicy curries daily have the lowest rate of this elderly disease that affects the human brain. An active compound in Turmeric known as Curcumin has the ability to block beta-amyloid plaque accumulation hence aiding in preventing Alzheimer’s disease. Curcumin also works by reducing the inflammation related to Alzheimer’s disease in neural tissues.

Scientists the world over have also suggested that turmeric has broad anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer effects. After learning this piece of useful information, consuming Turmeric becomes a necessity right?

The best way to consume turmeric to get its full benefits is by drinking turmeric tea. And below is how to make a proper  cup of turmeric tea.

Method:

Boil some water

Add one teaspoon of ground turmeric to the boiling water

Add ginger

Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes

Strain the tea with a sieve into a cup

Add a slice of lemon and some honey to taste

Of course you can experiment here and there with other ingredients like cumin powder, cinnamon, cardamon or coriander to the mix or you can use freshly grated turmeric instead of using readily ground turmeric.
