Are you making this rookie gym mistake?

Workout plan

(By Melanie Chisnall) This common newbie or comfort zone gym mistake could be the reason why you’re not seeing the results you want.

The gym mistake that costs results

If you’re a regular gym goer, or you’ve just started gymming, the chances are that you’ve made this all-too-common gym mistake: lack of planning.

Failure to plan

There’s one thing worse than following the wrong exercise plan, and that’s not following a plan at all. Without some idea of what you want to accomplish with your gym time, you could very well be wasting your time.

Especially if you’re serious about slimming down or toning up. To fix this, simply remind yourself to do these two things before leaving to work up a sweat:

Before every gym session…

  1. Commit to a specific time frame to work out. (For example, 30 minutes. This way you’ll know that you need to maximise that time and make the most of the exercises you do.)
  2. Decide on the type of exercises you’re going to do. (For example, will you be working your arms and abs, focusing on two cardio machines, or joining a yoga class.)
