Don’t worry about forgetting your combination, now there’s a padlock that unlocks with your smartphone thanks to near field communication, or NFC.

QuickLock is a Bluetooth-powered padlock and can be unlocked by an app on your smartphone of a NFC key, which you can keep in your wallet or purse. When you wave the NFC key or press a button on your phone, the lock will disengage.

I know what you’re thinking, “Do you have to re-charge the lock?” Good news is that QuickLock has an extensive 2 year battery life after a single charge. The QuickLock is also waterproof so you don’t have to worry about the rainy season.

Made out of “Die Cast Zinc Alloy,” the QuickLock is quite durable and rugged.

Set for full production, QuickLock costs USD $79 and will begin to ship by the end of April. For availability, check out their website.
