Nairobi Restaurant Week (NRW) is back and is just around the corner – and despite the name, it’s actually a little more than a week, from January 22nd to February 1st, admirers of anything edible will have a full 10 days to dine at 51 different restaurants in Nairobi, Kenya, encompassing two full weekends.
The 2015 edition of NRW will showcase some of the finest food Kenya’s capital has to offer. Chefs are preparing one-of-a-kind limited edition menus. Each restaurant will offer prix fixe menus, priced across the board at KSh 1,500 and KSh2,000 for dinner, which will include a complimentary cocktail from the title sponsor, Magnum Cream Liqueur. Some restaurants will be offering the same menus during lunch time for a reduced price of KSh 1,000 and KSh 1,500 respectively, which will not include the complimentary cocktail.
The official NRW Wine List for 2015 include a selection from producers Birds&Bees, Carlo Rossi, Casillero del Diablo and Frontera. On the cocktail front, innovative concoctions will be made from Magnum Cream Liqueur and Cruz Vodka.
Last year’s NRW received an overwhelming response with Bamboo, Zen Garden and Jiko at Tribe Hotel both selling out their 250 limited-edition offering within the first three days and several others such as About Thyme and Pablos, Best Western recording similar numbers as well.
Nairobi Restaurant Week is an annual chance to dine at some of the city’s top restaurants and indulge in discounted tantalizing menus. Coming from someone who has dined at all 51 participating restaurants, my suggestion to you is to do your research on the menus and book early!
