Rumour has it, the world’s most popular social mobile messaging app is developing a desktop version. According to AndroidWorld.nl, a Dutch technology blog, WhatsApp may just be doing so.

The blog shares how the director of WhatsApp’s competitor, Telegram, suspected that the app was building a web version of their messaging service. Through further investigation, the blog actually managed to find codes that referred to “WhatsApp Web.”

But would you use WhatsApp on your Mac or PC?

It might seem odd to use your mobile app on a desktop, but the concept isn’t that farfetched if the popular app wants to compete with other messaging applications such as Google Hangouts, Apple’s iMessage or Facebook Messenger; which all work across devices.
