Michael Kors have launched an Instagram shop.
Technology savvy fashion fans can now buy their favourite accessories by double tapping photos on the designer label’s Instagram account, michaelkors.
Today (17.11.14) marked the launch of the brand’s new digital initiative called #InstaKors, which enables followers of the brand to purchase products they like from Michael Kors’ Instagram feed.
Customers who sign up at michaelkors.com must now enter their email address and Instagram username, meaning that the company can send them personalised emails showcasing the shoes, bags and sunglasses the user might have liked, including an option to buy them.
Shoppable images will now feature the hashtag ‘#InstaKors’, with a total of 60 products being made available up until Christmas.
Written on the brand’s Instagram biography, it says: “Introducing #InstaKors – the new way to jet, set, shop!
“Step 1: Like it. Step 2: Shop it. Step 3: Own it.”
Three images containing the hashtag have been posted already, including the Kerry Pave-Embellished Gold-Tone watch, worth $275.
It’s not the first time Michael Kors have been technology trendsetters.
Earlier this month, Michael Kors became the first advert displayed on Instagram.
The pretty photo of a gold watch surrounded by macarons was simply captioned: “5:15 PM: Pampered in Paris #MKTimeless (sic)”
