A man has been accused of robbing Subway after failing to lose weight from eating their sandwiches.

Police in Alabama in the US say Zachary Raphael Torrance was on the Subway diet, but when he realised the diet wasn’t working he decided to reclaim his money by holding four stores up at gunpoint.

Police chief Chuck Hagler said: “He told the detective that he had been on the Subway diet and it had not worked for him and he felt like he wanted his money back.

“The detective felt like he was being serious.”

What’s more, it’s alleged he was buying a gun holster when he was arrested in a Walmart branch.
