Wetsuit-friendly and 15 percent lighter than its predecessor, the Forerunner 920XT offers improved accuracy in the water, on wheels, and on the run.

Used with its accompanying heart rate monitor, its Race Predictor function can even predict how you’ll do in a race before you’ve run it, because it is able to estimate your maximal oxygen uptake (VO2 max).

It contains the same capability for cycling, although the function is geared toward fitness monitoring rather than race predicting, displaying how the wearer ranks against others in his age group.

The Forerunner 920XT is able to measure every stroke you pump out in the pool or in open water, and its Advanced Alert functions enable it to communicate calories burned and alert you at the end of a drill.

The corresponding Garmin Connect app keeps you connected and measures your capabilities on the segment leaderboard.

Prices start at $449.99.
