The Koroga Festival, a bi-monthly music and arts festival, is set to captivate festival goers on Sunday, August 24th 2014.

Aptly named after the Swahili word meaning “mix,” The Koroga Festival is a great reflection of Kenya’s brilliant and diverse local talent, whilst also attracting leading artists from all over Africa through music, fashion, food and arts.

The 3rd Edition of The Koroga Festival will feature Papa Wemba, often called the King of Rhumba Rock, is a Congolese rumba musician and a prominent figure in the World Music genre.

Papa Wemba first made his mark in 1970 Kinshasa where he was a singer, composer, and co-founder of the youth group Zaiko Langa Langa. He formed the band Viva La Musica in 1976, and brought his eclectic sounds to Paris in the early 1980s, pioneering a more edgy-sounding afro-pop.

The Kenyan Benga sensation, Dan Aceda, popularly known as “The Crown Prince of Benga,” will be warming-up festival goers before the much anticipated performance by Papa Wemba.

Backed by a full band and Capital FM Mix Master DJs, the serene and lush Aboretum Gardens will be the perfect backdrop for Sunday’s must-attend outdoor concert!

Advance tickets for Sh1,500 are available on www.TicketSASA.com and regular tickets for Sh2,000 will be available at the gate. Food and drinks are strictly prohibited.
