Nokia Lumia smartphones have never been challenged as much as by National Geographic photographer Stephen Alvarez.

Set to photograph the 7 Natural Wonders of the World with only Lumia smartphones, Alvarez is taking his Nokia mobile devices to some of the harshest climates in order to get some of the most captivating shots captured by mobile phones.

Earlier in 2013, Alvarez brought a Nokia Lumia 1020 to the hot and humid American West. In his latest photography journey, Alvarez heads to Mount Everest equipped with only a Nokia Lumia 930 and 1520.
