New James Bond film gets revamped, production begins in December

‘Bond 24’s revamped script has been approved by movie bosses.

Writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade were rehired last month to “rescue” John Logan’s original screenplay and insiders have now admitted they had a bigger task ahead than was originally reported, and their “substantially different” script has got producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, director Sam Mendes and lead actor Daniel Craig “excited” about the upcoming saga.

A source told the Daily Mail newspaper: “Everyone’s excited, and all systems are pumping away at full speed.

“There was an awful lot of work to do. It was a big job. The impression given was that Purvis and Wade were hired to add jokes — but it was a bigger deal than that.”

Logan was initially hired by Mendes to work on Purvis and Wade’s script for ‘Skyfall’, the most recent Bond movie and the long-standing writing team – who have worked on numerous movies in the franchise – were let go for the latest script.

However, following some “polite turmoil” behind the scenes, they were asked to return and it is said they “behaved graciously” and got on with Logan and the director during the rewriting process.

Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris and Ben Whishaw will all return alongside Craig for the new movie, with other cast members yet to be announced.

Filming is scheduled to begin in December.
