The prime minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, wants his country to hold the first ‘robot olympics’ in 2020.
The Japanese prime minister wants Tokyo to hold the first “robot olympics”.
Shinzo Abe is hoping the country can hold an Olympic games specifically for robots alongside the traditional one in 2020, the Metro newspaper reports.
The PM plans to create a special workforce to help grow the robotics industry three times larger than it is now.
He said: “In 2020, I would like to gather all of the world’s robots and aim to hold an Olympics where they compete in technical skills.
“We would like to set up a council on making a robotic revolution a reality in order to aid Japan’s growth.”
