The famous red-soled, show-stopping shoe designers has decided to come back full circle to where it all began for him, nail polish.

Christian Louboutin recently debuted his nail polish collection which marked his entry into the beauty industry. He joins other design houses with nail polishes already in the market including Tom Ford, YSL, Armani and Givenchy to name a few, most of which retail between $20 and $34. However, his lacquers will sell at whopping $50 apiece, making his polishes the most expensive of them all. The apple obviously didn’t fall far from the tree, if his luxury shoe prices are anything to go by.

His signature red-soled shoes came about after the designer used his assistant’s red nail polish to add the finishing touch to a pair of stilettoes about two decades ago. The nail lacquer collection will come in 30 different shades with the signature colour being Rouge Louboutin to match the popular sole.

The iconic shoe designer recently admitted that he does not take comfort into consideration when designing his shoes saying that his creative focus is on designing something sexy. It’s evident that the same premise was used to create the nail polish bottle that screams sexy and edgy at the same time, and not exactly practical.

We can’t help but wonder whether a good red lipstick is in the designer’s future.christianlouboutin-rouge-8051000_K001_2_1200x1200 christianlouboutin-rouge-8051000_K001_3_1200x1200
