Swedish beauty company Oriflame has been recognised at the prestigious 2014 CEW(UK) Beauty Awards, known as the “Oscars of the Beauty Industry”

The firm’s Ecobeauty range was named the joint winner of the Eco Beauty Award at the event held at London’s Hilton Park Lane Hotel on Friday (2 May). Winners are decided by over 1,000 industry professionals and experts in the field of beauty.

The Eco Beauty Award recognises a beauty product or product line that has significantly moved towards the goal of improved sustainability and aims to encourage steps towards greater sustainability within the beauty industry in general.

Founded in 1967, Oriflame is a beauty company selling direct in more than 60 countries with a vision to become a sustainable company. Its wide portfolio of Swedish, nature-inspired, innovative beauty products is marketed through around three million independent consultants.

Oriflame’s pioneering Ecobeauty range is the first global cross-category cosmetics range to be approved by four leading independent ethical, natural and environmental global organisations – Fairtrade, Ecocert, TheVegan Society and Forest Stewardship Council. The product packs have 100% recyclable packaging materials and the cartons are FSC certified.

Eco continues to grow in importance. This is the third year the Eco Beauty Award has been in place, sponsored by Givaudan and adjudicated by an independent panel of experts. The sustainable beauty products entered had to meet extensive eco-credentials criteria within all sectors of their business.
