Renowned Whisky maker The Macallan hosted an exclusive Whisky pairing event at Wine Bar Shop, Nairobi, Kenya on Wednesdsay.
The Macallan Sub-Saharan brand ambassador Nicol Gongota took the guests through a Whisky and food pairing immersion session, which showcased The Macallan 1824 series – Amber, Sienna and Ruby brands.
The showcase comes as one of the key initiatives spear headed by the The Macallan Sub-Saharan Brand Ambassador Nicol Gongota, who was in Nairobi for a week-long engagement in Kenya sharing Macallan’s rich history that dates back to 1824.
Speaking during the event, Macallan Sub-Saharan Brand Ambassador Nicol Gongota noted that the brand is one of the world’s distinguished whisky brands built on two of The Macallan’s greatest strengths: exceptional oak maturation casks and natural colour.
The 1824 Series is 100% matured in sherry casks an approach that enables the Whisky Maker to draw on its broadest range of skills in cask selection, unshackled by the need to draw on casks selected for bottling at an arbitrary age.
“Macallan continues to distinguish itself in the market through the brand’s full flavored aroma and taste experience based on the rich, fruity new make spirit and on the distinctive character from maturation in sherry casks,” explained Gongota.
The 1824 range is 100% matured in sherry casks delivering the full bodied aromas and flavors for which The Macallan is recognized and famed. The series also adopts the colour from the wood in which they are matured. Wood being a natural product and with each tree different, they impart different flavors and colors to the whisky during maturation.
