Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL), through its Snapp brand, is the title sponsor of the 2014 coveted Miss World Kenya beauty pageant.
The Miss World Kenya pageant is held every year with the lady winner getting a rare chance to represent Kenya in the global contest of the Miss World competition, which will be held in London in September 2014.
Miss Kenya is a household name that traces its steps from the premier Miss Uhuru, which was held in 1963 as part of the celebrations to mark Kenya’s attainment of independence from the British colonial rule. The event then was won by Mrs. Elizabeth Madoka who ended up working in state house as the secretary to the founding father of the nation.
The event which has been held successfully for the last 50 years coincides with Kenya’s Golden Jubilee celebration. Miss Kenya is proud to share the birthday and a mutual journey and heritage with the country. The event this year seeks to scout for models across the country via the newly established counties.

Miss World Kenya chapter presents an opportunity for the young adult women to represent their country on the world stage and compete for the highly-coveted title,” said Mr. Gikonyo.
The Miss World Kenya annual pageant is a huge aspiration to the young adult women, pursuing their tertiary education and/or is in their first jobs, women who personify the brand’s target consumer.
Also speaking during the unveiling of the pageant Ashley’s Kenya Chief Executive Officer Mrs. Terry Mungai said: “We are proud to be part of this unique partnership with KBL through the Snapp brand. Miss World Kenya is a pageant that offers young ladies the closest link to become the next Miss World. As we embark into the journey of finding this year’s Miss Kenya 2014, a scouting team will visit all the key counties in Kenya to judge and select the next runway beauties”.
Ashleys Kenya is the franchise holders and the Kenya at 50 Secretariat, through the Ministry of Culture, Sports and the Arts has also partnered with Miss World Kenya to give the platform a national appeal.
