Helena Rizzo, Best Female Chef 2013 at the inaugural Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants, has done it again; but this time, on a global scale. The Brazilian-born Rizzo is the newly crowned Veuve Clicquot World’s Best Female Chef 2014.

Rizzo is famed for her ability to combine tradition with contemporary techniques seamlessly. At her restaurant Mani in São Paulo, Rizzo has amassed quite a following. According to The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, “Diners here [Mani] loosen their metaphorical ties and tuck into sticky skewers of octopus with confit potatoes and sweet paprika; heady cachaça-steamed shrimp; and peach palm and pumpkin tortelli.

The stunning and talented chef Rizzo is a former model and trained architect whose keen eye to detail has translated into her journey as a chef. She is described by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants List as: “A model example of cooking with innovation yet soul’.

The World’s 50 Best Restaurants List 2014 awards ceremony will be held on 28th April 2014 at London’s Guildhall.
