‘Fast and Furious’ actor, Paul Walker, dies in fiery car crash

Known for his role as  Brian O’Connor in the popular action film series ‘Fast and Furious,’ Paul Walker, 40, died in a fiery car crash in California, on Saturday.

According to a statement on his Facebook page, Walker was attending a charity event at the time and was a passenger in his friend’s red Porsche sports car.

“It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organisation Reach Out Worldwide…He was a passenger in a friend’s car, in which both lost their lives.”

It is said that police found a car engulfed in flamed when the responded to a report of a collision.  Two people were pronounced dead on the scene.

Universal Pictures issued a statement saying their staff were devastated.

“Paul was truly one of the most beloved and respected members of our studio family for 14 years, and the loss is devastating to us, to everyone involved with the Fast & Furious films, and to countless fans.”
