Multi-Platinum selling artist Leona Lewis performed a world-first ‘Gig on a Wing’ performance to celebrate the launch of British Airways A380 to Hong Kong last week. The exclusive British Airways event showcased the very best of British music, fashion and cuisine with a fashion show by award winning designer Alice Temperley MBE straight down the ‘runway’ of the A380.
Held inside Hong Kong International Airport’s China Aircraft Services Limited Hangar, British Airways’ state of the art A380 super-jumbo took the centre stage and wowed guests.
Leona Lewis performed live on a specially created stage, flush with the A380’s 261-foot twin-engine wing. Leona’s set included her number 1 selling track “Bleeding Love” and “Come Alive” from Glassheart.
“It was an incredible experience. After singing on top of a double-decker bus at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, I thought that would be a hard act to follow, but tonight’s ‘Gig on a Wing’ event was very special and unique,” the multi-platinum selling artist shared.
